Top 5 Shows That I Miss

I will admit in high school I did not watch a whole lot of TV. It wasn't until I moved to Denmark and had months of nothing to do while I waited for paper work and school to start that I really started watching TV series. Now, being in Denmark I didn't really have easy access to a lot of the American TV shows, but I managed to find old episodes online.

Now I am a TV series junkie, and will watch almost anything, but I have my favorites (save those for another week). However, there are a few series that are no longer playing... that I miss. Here are 5 in no particular order:

One Tree Hill

This was probably one of the first series I started watching in Denmark. And I fell in love with it right away. I think I probably watched the first 3 seasons within a few days. I even continued to watch when they made the jump from high school to adulthood, which they managed to do okay with. I was very sad to have it end.

The Tudors

Another one of my favorites and ones that I watched early on in Denmark. I loved this show so much that I made sure to have episodes of it on my laptop for when I was in the hospital in labor with my first. The show did run its course though.. but I would LOVE for them to do the story of Elizabeth.

Firefly

Not my usual genre, but my husband got me into this one. I really think it is Nathan Fillion's charm. This is one series that ended way too soon!

Merlin

This one is more recent. I loved this show. It was actually one of my favorites playing at the moment. I had no clue it was ending until I watched the last episode. I was devastated! I cried. I am really not sure what will fill magical/historical TV needs at the moment (okay Game of Thrones has helped a bit).

Veronica Mars

I couldn't leave this one off the list. This was one of those TV shows that I had heard about, but didn't think it was something I would enjoy. Wrong. This was such a fun series, it was pretty sad when it ended. However I am super excited about the movie that will be made due to their kickstarter project! If I could, I would donate just to get a digital copy of the movie.

So there is my 5 list for this week, but honestly there are a lot more series missing from this list! What are yours?

Wednesday Top 5 - TV Guys

Okay so I know I said Wednesdays I would be writing a story and posting it here each week. Well I am just too busy for that at the moment. So instead I am going to do a Top 5 every Wednesday. Just for fun.

This week I am going to start with my Top 5 TV Guy crushes.

5. Jonathan Rhys Meyers from The Tudors

Did you watch the Tudors? If you didn't you really should. Great show with some great eye candy!

4. Ed Westwick - Gossip Girls
Okay.. so this means I have to admit to watching Gossip Girl. I will admit it. I can't say it was one of my favorite shows, more just something to fill some time with. But I always enjoyed the dynamics between Blair and Chuck.

3. Ian Somerhalder - The Vampire Diaries
I am not sure if I find him hot outside of the show. But Damon Salvator... yes please!

2. Matt Bomer - White Collar
Okay, seriously it was so hard to choose a picture! I love Matt Bomer. I try convince my husband that he should dress like him, maybe even dye his hair darker to look more like Matt. My husband just makes fun of me and reminds me that he is Gay and Matt will never be in to me. I am seriously jealous of Matts man.

1. Jensen Ackles - Supernatural
This is my number one TV crush. If I were not married with kids I would totally move to Vancouver and stalk the sets of Supernatural. I recently found out that he is having a baby in the summer. I  didn't even know there was someone else. I may have cried a  little.

Who is your TV crush?

She's 3

Okay, I know I still have to post about Julius's birthday, but I don't have a recent picture of him, so I a going to start with Elisabeth.

My baby girl turned 3 last week. 3! I can't believe it. Where has the time gone? Where has my baby girl gone and who is this little preschooler running around my house?

I miss these days:
Now she has turned into this:

Isn't she beautiful! I think she is stunning.

I have a love/hate feeling about this stage she is in. The older she gets, the more independent she gets, the more she is able to speak.... the more her stubbornness shines through. She is very much like me. She is very hard headed. Once she has decided she is going to do something... she is going to do it. Plain and simple.

It frustrates and pushes me to limits I never knew I had. For once, I would like her to stop doing something the first (heck even the second or third ) time I say stop. I know it won't always be like this. And I try to see it has a good thing. She will be a strong girl.

This time is also kind of magical. We are really starting to get to know our daughter. We are finally starting to be able to have conversations with her, as her speech improves. She can be very sweet when she wants too, and a lot of fun. It is exciting to get to know her and catch glimpses of who she could be.

So Happy Belated Birthday to my first born, Elisabeth.

Sunday Social

I don't think I have ever participated in the Sunday Social, but I have always wanted to! So this week I am going to do it!

Sunday Social
Here are this weeks questions along with my answers:
1. What is one movie you are terrified to watch? That's a good questions. Honestly movies generally don't freak me out. I know when I was young Freddy Krouger (is that spelt right?) really freaked me out and gave me nightmares... but I was like 7 at the time. I think The Ring is kind of creepy, but terrifying.. not really.
2. Would you ever travel alone? Yes. Right now in particular, I would love to be on a beach, by myself relaxing under the warm sun........... sorry you lost me in a day dream for a moment there.
3. What is one TV show you have always wanted to get into but can't? Bluebloods. I think the cast is great, and it seems like the type of show I would enjoy. However I have yet to make it completely through the first episode. And I can not figure out why...
4. What is one daring activity on your bucket list? Well... to begin with... I would need a bucket list. BUT... I think if I did have one, skydiving would be on that list. Cliff jumping also. Something about jumping off a cliff in to some crystal clear pool of water just sounds fantastic... if I could work up the courage to do it.
5. What activities do you like to do alone? Have a bath. Seriously.. if I am having a bath, it is because I am trying to be alone. I want peace and quiet. I want to be alone with my book or thoughts. Oh darn... I just remembered that we just moved into a house that has no bath.... new alone time place needed!!

It's My Birthday

Today is my 27th birthday. I knew my birthday was coming because tomorrow is my daughters birthday, but honestly, it still snuck up on me.Thu

This morning, my husband asked me what I wanted to do. I told him I have work to do. Having a 3 week long flu, and now a burst ear drum which is causing some serious vertigo and headaches I am so behind. I was actually really glad to have a couple of hours to do some design work.

But I have had all day to think about it, and now all I want to do is sit in bed, watch a movie and crochet.. alone. I just want some alone time. No kids, no baby. I want an hour where no one is touching me. I want some space. I know I will not get that, but you know what... I am gonna try!

As soon as the husband gets out of the shower, I am heading to the bedroom (which I am sure I will be followed by little feet) and I am going to try and relax.

I should probably do some work. I have 3 photo sessions to edit, two blog designs to finish, and one on hold (soon Catherine I promise!!), as well as consulting work.

But... I am sorry all... it is my birthday... I am taking the evening off.

I wish you all a happy Thursday.

London Part 3: The End

Don't forget I am having a sale on sponsor spots to fill it up for the rest of March. $2 for any spot, based on first come first serve. You can read more about my advertising options HERE.

So now that it has been a month since our trip to London, I should probably get to the end of the story. In cased you missed it, don't forget to read part 1 and part 2.

We decided to catch an early ferry from Dover to Dunkirk, this meant getting up at 4:30 and getting the kids out of the hotel by 5 am. They were not originally impressed with this idea, but we managed to get them in the car.

Then... our GPS wouldn't work. We messed around with it for like 20 minutes, which put us a lot behind schedule. Finally, we just could not wait any longer to start heading out of London, so we just made a guess as to what direction we should take. Luckily the GPS came up shortly afterwards, and besides some traffic, and one other missed turn we made it to the ferry without too much hassel. The kids were tired and pretty quiet for this part of the trip.

The ferry itself was a bit rough, but Sean kept the kids busy in the play area and I just didn't move around much. I was more than happy when we docked and got back into the car. An on we went. Our goal destination was a hotel in Germany, meaning we had to drive through France, Belgium, the Netherlands then Germany to get there.

The kids slept a good part of the way, and I think we only had to stop once. Funny thing though, when we entered Belgium, the entire car filled with the smell of waffles. It seems there was a big factory in the town we drove through right on the border.

We made it to our hotel before 5 pm, which was awesome. I had found a smaller hotel outside of any bigger cities in Munster. We booked it for two reasons. It was cheap and it had theme rooms. At first we were not sure what we were coming too. But we were very pleasantly surprised. Sean got us checked in and was told that we had the Felix the Rabbit room (one specifically for families).  When we opened the door this is what we found:

The expression on Elisabeth's face was priceless when we opened the door to find a giant stuffed rabbit sitting on one of the beds. The rest of the room was decorated too:

It was really wonderful! There were book for the kids, enough beds for all of us, a very fancy bathroom and lots of space. I didn't manage to see the reception or the dining hall, but Sean said they were really nice and fancy. We decided to order some food. It was the best food from the trip. The food was a bit expensive, but worth it! This was probably our favorite part of the trip.

This hotel as a variety of themed rooms. Sean and I have plans to go back there just the two of us some time.

The next morning we got up early again, thinking the kids would go to sleep in the car and would make it a good part of the way home before stopping. The kids had other plans. Elisabeth did fall asleep. Julius did not. Olivia did. However about an hour in Sean was just too tired. So we pulled into a truck stop so he could get a bit of sleep before.

He slept. Elisabeth and Olivia slept. Julius watched a movie. I sat there playing horror movie senarios through my mind every time a car drove in and parked. You see it was dark, and it was a small truck stop in the trees just of the high way. There was a light dusting of snow on the ground. It was perfect murder scene stuff! After about 30 or 40 minutes, it started getting pretty cold in the car, so I woke Sean up. Secretly... I had just creeped myself out.

After this the trip was uneventful. I think it took us about 8 hours that day to get home.

A month after the trip, and I am still pretty disappointed with it. Traveling with 3 under 3 was not a fun adventure. That being said, we are planning a trip with the kids to Ireland in the fall.... so I guess it really couldn't have been that bad...

Changes

I am sorry that I have not been posting these last couple of weeks. Our family has been going through a bunch of changes, all the while suffering a horrible flu.

I am hoping to catch up a bit this coming week. I still have to fill you in on the last part of our trip to London.

Also while I was gone, my boy turned 2! I can't believe it... where has time gone?

We have moved to a new city, and there are many new beginnings that come with that.

We have only been in our new home for about 4 days, and we already have a hospital trip.

Elisabeth starts preschool tomorrow!

So many things to blog about!

But for today I am going to leave you with just a couple of things:

1) Ad sale. I want to fill up for March. So all spots are on Sale for just $2! They are first come first serve, so if you are interested, be sure to contact me right away. All ads will be put up immediately. You can read more about the ads Here.

2) Not only are we having changes in life, there are signs of a change in season. Life has been hectic, so Saturday morning I grabbed my camera and went out into our new backyard to do something I love. Take flower pictures. It was just a small things, but it sure let me breathe. I was delighted to find signs of spring in our garden already!
